My purpose

In everything I do, I challenge myself to go beyond as I believe I have, and we all have the power, the tools, the right and the duty to build a better future within our circle of influence. We can make the company we work for more successful and we can make our team members better professionals than when we met them. We can build more united families and raise more polite, kind and educated children than we were at their age. We can help create a healthier and pristine world and a safer place to live. We can evolve into a more respectful society, less polarized and more meritocratic. A society with real equality of rights, but also with equal distribution of duties and responsibilities. I believe in giving without any expectation of a personal return and I believe in my willpower as fuel to propel change.

To this end, professionally speaking, the way I build a more performing and successful environment is by:

  1. structuring data driven commercial strategies and running them with the mindset and speed of a startup
  2. empowering, coaching and upskilling my team so that they can have the highest level of trust and delegation
  3. being user-centric and taking care of each customer with the white glove

Which ends up in growing our customer base and our sales double digit year on year, in having competitive acquisition costs, and achieving a remarkable Net Promoter Score.

4 things I’m passionate about and I’m great at

My experience in working in complex organizations combined with my entrepreneurial attitude can be of great value for those that are looking for an advisor or consultant to start or scale up a business. Here are 4 main areas where I thrive and where I can really make the difference.

Real talent for Sales and Marketing

I have a commercial soul  driven by an innate passion for Sales and Marketing. I started working when I was 16, but I remember selling my toys to other children at the age of 7-8 and since then I’ve never stopped looking for new ways to do business. Having spent the last 15 years of my career in Product Marketing, Brand Marketing and Acquisition Marketing  roles has converted me into a strong supporter of the “old fashioned” but effective Marketing Mix. I am a promoter of the definition of integrated marketing strategies  that take advantage of the 4 levers of the Mix and intersect them with the various phases of the sales funnel .
Whether it’s B2C or B2B for small, medium or large companies, whether it’s in a more or less digitized context, or whether it’s very different industries such as HealthTech, FinTech, PropTech, etc.,  I enjoy the challenge of understanding the needs of my target customers and offering them high value.

Starting and scaling up businesses

I have an entrepreneurial mindset . I enjoy solving problems and building products to create value for the companies I work for and for the customers I serve. And that’s what I’ve been doing for the last 10 years. On one side I’ve been  internationalizing and scaling up brands like GoDaddy and Ionos in multiple markets like Italy, Spain, France, Mexico, Colombia, etc. doing some General Management and taking care of any aspect of the setup in the new country: from Sales to Customer Care, and from Legal to Accounting. On the other side, I’ve immersed myself in the  Spanish entrepreneurial ecosystem first by founding my own Telemedicine startup (2014-2016) and then by giving lessons in Marketing Strategy for Startups. I constantly  strive to be as nimble as possible and think outside the box. I build Minimum Viable Products (MVP) for each project, I define the assumptions and its success metrics, I test the hypothesis and validate them or iterate the process when needed. And I know it sounds nerdy, but  I find this process highly satisfying and enriching.

Leading people and coaching them

Hidden in the past and perhaps in another life is a degree in Psychology  (Cognitive Science). However, the flame of passion for people, relationships and social dynamics is still burning and bright. This leads me to invest my time and mental resources in listening to my team , in understanding their different needs and characteristics and in guiding them in their personal and professional development. Whether it’s their hard or soft skills, I take advantage of projects and activities to explicitly support my team in improving them. And at the same time, I lead them by example providing implicit guidance on how to manage specific challenges. It doesn’t matter if it’s about strengthening analytical skills or body language or time management, etc., any circumstance is an opportunity  to be 1% better than the day before.

Exploring different industries and trends

I have always been a very curious and consequently a very proactive person. For instance, in my private life I’ve been traveling to many countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, North and South America. I have practiced various sports including rowing, running, scuba diving, swimming, rollerblading, padel or archery. And I have also indulged in various hobbies like meditation and, recently, wine tasting. Similarly, in my professional career I have worked and explored different industries such as telecommunications, web hosting and domain registrations, healthcare, real estate and hospitality. While I worked in Telco and Web Hosting for most of my career, healthcare is one of my deepest passions. I co-founded a HealthTech startup and I’m surrounded by doctors, including friends and.. Valentina, my wife! In the last few years I started to get interested in the Blockchain technology, Web3 and the crypto ecosystem. Among other things, I helped a friend in London with his NFT based startup in the Music industry.

I wanted the result and not the process. I was in love not with the fight but only the victory. And life doesn’t work that way.
